Most genetically modified sugar-beet is grown in the United States. The most commonly planted variety is H7-1 (RoundUp Ready®), which makes up over 95% of total US sugar-beet cultivation.
Currently there are legal issues regarding the approval status of GM sugar-beet in the USA.
